Next we drove west to Munising right on Lake Superior. We saw so many anymore water falls and stood on a lookout at Miner’s Castle overlook enjoying our first look at the Pictured Rocks National Seaside.
Munising was larger than Grand Marais, so we got laundry done, went to a coffee shop, Falling Rock Cafe, a couple of times, and even found a good chiropractor. We were told that during the winter all of the restaurants in town and many of the small businesses closed. Glad we found the coffee shop that we did and that it was doing a brisk business. The campsite we stayed at, Munising Tourist Park Campground, was just out of town on Lake Superior and was a wide-open space.
Locals call the Lake Superior coast The North Coast of the U.S. If you look at a map of the lake, we’re about halfway across going west.
