Our trip home was easy and relaxing. We stayed with our Florida friends again, enjoyed a second stay at a Harvest Host golf course parking lot, had lunch at Sally Mae’s, a new favorite spot outside of Savannah (the cashier even remembered us!), and started packing up at a RV campground (same post as Sally Mae’s) where we’ve stayed before and is only a couple of hours away from home.
All was good until we started driving home and saw the beginnings of pine tree pollen on our gold truck.
Remember what we said about a 2nd water leak in the kitchen just before we left? Well, here’s what the repair looked like while we were gone.
But spring was starting to bloom when we got home.
About 5 days after we returned, Barney had a total knee replacement done. All went well, and he started recovering. Suzi, a home physical therapist, helped him walk downstairs for the first time.
When Suzi came today at the almost 2-week mark, she took off the heavy plastic covering. The surgeon used glue to hold the skin together.
We’ll see the surgeon in a couple of days and then start regular physical therapy. Hopefully in another 2 weeks until he can start driving and being independent. Luckily we like being in our home. Our plan is to take off in June if he’s able to move around that much. Looking forward to getting back on the road with you!
