Wednesday we left Iowa and drove east through Illinois to just south of Chicago. We had to spend the night in this state so we could add to our travel map!
What was interesting in this campground, Enchanted Shores Campground in Peotone, IL, was that they had figured out how to get around the problem of frozen water connections.
Tomorrow we take off for Deerfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum south of Detroit, Michigan. We had wanted to make this stop at the beginning of this two-month trip, but the weather forecast encouraged us to go north sooner. Glad we did since we’ve been closing down campgrounds and museums as we’ve traveled. Deerfield Village closes this Sunday so glad we’re going now. We’ll be camping next to Lake Erie, the fourth of the Great Lakes for this trip!
If you’re going through this trip with us by reading the posts, we’ve already covered these sites in the Michigan state section. I want to go to these 2 places again!
