Once home from our short trip to the Dakotas, we settled into life at home. Doctors appointments, safe outings, and work on our RV took up most of our time. Our pastor tells us that we have a story to tell now of the choices we made. in the past. Writing these posts while we’re home helps me document the story we hope we’re telling.
Our first priority was to get to an orthopedic doctor who could confirm that my bones were healing and that I could start physical therapy. Once I complete PT, I can get back to working out!
Right after we got home, Barney started getting the RV ready for its rest at our friends’ home. As he slid out the dining room slide, he heard a “pop.” Oh oh. The metal rod that held the slides together broke in half. We were so glad we were settled at home instead of being on the road!
During our autumn months at home, we had a few outings.
Nope, in a couple of weeks Starbucks was shut down inside again.
RV troubles
And then one night, a fierce wind and rainstorm blew through the area. Our friends who let us store our RV on their land had a number of downed trees, and if we had parked our RV where we usually do, just 6 feet over, one of the downed trees would have destroyed it.
Instead only one tree nicked our RV.
Our insurance company sent out an agent to look at the problem and give us a quote for fixing the RV. Mark Tuggle RV Center, where we go for our trailer repairs, fixed some other problems and then found a fiberglass repair company to fix the split. Their quote was way higher than what our insurance company thought it would be, so now they’re deciding on the amount they’ll cover. This discussion is happening in January, months after the wind storm, so we’re stuck at home until all is fixed. Wonder how we’ll spend our time so we’ll have a good story!
Thanksgiving
As autumn flows into winter, we’re looking forward to getting our yard done and celebrating Christmas.
