We visited this national park on our 2020 trip to North Dakota and really enjoyed the park and the town of Medora. When we heard that Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library was opening on July 4, we just had to come since we were already in North Dakota. Our first stop was the overlook that gives visitors a perfect view of this area of the badlands. Then we spent an afternoon driving around the park. Since we’ve already been here and wrote blog posts about the area, I’ll only be including a few pictures and then giving you links to what we saw a few years ago.

Yes, this river ties us into our Lewis & Clark trip since the Little Missouri River flows into the Missouri River around Williston, which is our next stop.
This ever-changing land inspired a young man who later became our nation’s 26th president. The National Park Service cares for this special place in his honor.

What we’re seeing in this post is all about the south unit of the national park. On our previous trip we spent time in the north unit and thought you might like to see that area too.
