We had wanted to take a fourth trip in 2017 to Williamsburg, Va., to see Christmas at Williamsburg, but a snowstorm and exhaustion stopped us. (We did get to do this trip in 2019. Plus we had to decorate and prepare for Christmas. The family came for Thanksgiving to celebrate Barney’s retirement from the work world. The house was full with our three sons, their wives, and our seven children. It was wonderful.
Matt and Peggy and family drove out from Truckee, Ca., in their motor home, making a vacation out of their drive across the U.S. They left their motor home with us for over the winter, and we planned on driving it back to them in March.
