So why would we chose to spend January in Mississippi? Well, we didn’t have any doctors appointments on the calendar so our schedule was completely open. The one state in the southeast that wasn’t filled in on our RV map was Mississippi, so we packed up and started driving.

While the temperatures on our trip will be about the same as home, at least we’ll get to explore and see new things.
We had driven through the state along Hwy. 10 on our way to the Southwest Swing trip in 2019, but all I remembered was the welcome center; it hasn’t changed a bit.

But this time it was decorated for Mardi Gras.

If you don’t know much about how the Gulf states celebrate this holiday, you may want to see a post from 2019 when we went to the Mardi Gras Museum in Mobile.

We’re starting along the Gulf of Mississipppi in the Biloxi area and then traveling north toward Natchez.
