During the summer while I was recuperating, Barney worked on his truck and our RV so we’d be ready for our next trips. Amazing how much time it takes to maintain our travel assets, no matter how old they are.
Barney’s F-250
Barney wanted to add a cover over the truck bed so he could store containers and equipment for our trips to keep them safe.
We thought we should add some marketing to our vehicles so got this aypTravels.com sticker for the back of the truck.
RVupdates
Early in our travels we put this U.S. map on the RV so we could show where we’ve traveled. The location was perfect if we had the door closed, but when it was open, the map was hidden.
When we went to Canada’s Maritime Provinces, we didn’t have space to put it over the U.S. map. Oops.
Time to replace the maps.
This summer Barney realized that the map had some junk underneath it. We decided to replace it and move it so the Canadian map could show above it.
Here’s the new map. We’ll add the new Canadian map above it when we go to Florida on our next trip.
For marketing, we decided to add our website decal to the back of the RV. Marci and I watched our husbands do the work.
And here’s the finished product! Wonder if anyone will connect with us because of these decals.
For inside the RV we bought some small lamps (we chose the black) to give us some ambience at night. We also added the sofa cover to hide the rips in the material. The RV is a number of years old and needs some help.
On the road
In August we drove north for a day toward Michigan and the Henry Ford Museum and stayed at this campground in Kentucky. By the time we got there, I was in too much nerve pain to continue, so we came back home.
To get ready for our trips, Barney and son Jason changed the oil and added a dash cam for the “just-in-case” accidents.
Now we’re in early October and ready to see our family in Florida for a few weeks. Stay tuned.
