Today we drove south from Furnace Creek area to explore what’s in the valley. We started out at Badwater Basin, the lowest spot in the continental United States: 282 feet below sea level!

We made it to the lowest spot in the U.S.

Golden Canyon Trail

What was once a car drive is now a short stroll or a 4-mile loop trail.

We started out on the short stroll

Barn started up this narrow path to see what was
on the other side, but it got too rough to climb.

Looks like a seat in the cleft of the rock for a giant.

Then the trail got really narrow and rough to navigate, so we turned
around so we could enjoy some iced tea back at “our” resort.

Time for some more iced tea on the patio.

What a great day!
