We had wanted to spend more time in the next town of Eureka as we drove east along Hwy. 50, but the campsite there was more expensive than the one in Ely a little further on, so we stopped for lunch instead!
We didn’t catch their names, but had a great time talking to our servers. She was a hoot, and they were so proud of their town. The walking tour of Eureka is one we wished we could have taken, especially to see the Opera House and the museum, but we had spent so much extra time in Austin, that we had to keep driving.
On to Ely!
