Since we’re having a longer visit with Brian and Jana this time, we decided to take a couple of days and drive over to the Tampa area and first see some long-time friends, Norm and Maria. Norm lived with us for a while when he had a job assignment in Atlanta. So good to catch up with them.
We had been trying to remember how we had connected with him, and he reminded us it was through Rob, another man who had lived with us before he got married to Heather. If you remember, we stopped in to see Rob and Heather and their family three times last year in three different states!
Back to our visit with Norm and Maria. When she visited him while he was staying with us, they visited the World of Coca Cola in downtown Atlanta and started buying memorabilia. Our guestroom was full of Coke items, including the sign that welcomed us.
While on the Tampa side of Florida, we also also stopped in to see Ken and Marilyn, who used to live in Alpharetta and were one of the first couples we met at NPCC. They moved to a new Del Webb community south of Tampa. So good to see their new home and where they are hanging out.
On our way home to the Atlantic side of Florida, we drove through Lake Placid to see the murals on the sides of buildings down town. Such a creative way to put your town on the map.
These murals dress up the town.
