We spent today in Georgetown, KY, and concentrated on horsepower. First we toured the huge Toyota facility–8000 employees on the manufacturing floor and another 2000 to support making the cars. They put us on moving cars to keep us together and move us along. Everyone wore headphones so we could hear the tour guide over the noise on the floor. Almost overwhelming to see the automation and processes used. Everyone is supposed to be able to do his/her part in the process in 1 minute. Employees all looked happy and relaxed but also intent on what they’re doing. A must see if you’re in the area.
