Had a wonderful last day in Raleigh with Susie. After a lazy morning (nice to be retired), we drove to the downtown area and did a self-guided tour of the capital building. Only the governor has an office here and the other officials and the legislature work in a newer building.
Then we walked across the street to the history center and toured an exhibit we hadn’t seen before and took a NC picture.
On our way home, we drove past the administrative building for her church, Holy Trinity, an Anglican Church. When she started attending, its co-rector was Michael Green for any of you who remember him. This is the building where she’ll be working. Good to see her hangouts!
An afternoon treat at a coffee shop near her home fortified us after all our sightseeing. Then we went shopping; I always find deals when I shop with Susie. After dropping Barney off at home, we went to the local TJ Maxx to see what was available. I found a pair of short boots and this macrame wall hanging!
On our last night we enjoyed pizza and a movie, Crazy Rich Asians. Fun to watch and probably my only time to see Singapore. Don’t know how Asians like this movie, but we thought it was fun.
We’re driving home in the rain today to start getting ready for our 5-month trip.
